Hi, I’m Beckham…

I’m 7 years old. I live in Vineyard, UT and have a 5 year old sister, Navy. I love LEGO, Xbox, crafts, riding my bike and superheroes. I also enjoy Nerf guns and jigsaw puzzles. In fact, I’m a puzzle master!  When I grow up, I want to be a daddy and a police officer.

When I was 3, I was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma.

My favorite part of Candlelighters NYC is Barbara. I love Barbara and I tell my parents I love her and her friends because they are so nice and make me happy. My parents say their favorite part of Candlelighters NYC is all the support and love we get from them. Candlelighters NYC is family to us now. Barbara is a true friend and understands what parents go through. It is such a blessing.

Hi, I’m Brooklyn…

I’m 3 years old and I live in Gilbert, Arizona. I like cooking/baking, Disney and playing with other kids. I also enjoy bubbles and going to the park! I think BAND-AIDs can fix all problems and I put them everywhere for everything.

When I was 2.5 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma.

As a Candlelighters NYC kid, my favorite experiences include going to the children’s museum and getting “princess shoes” for my birthday. My parents say their favorite part of Candlelighters NYC is being able to meet other families and knowing someone is always there to help when you are so far away from home.

Hi, I’m Dylan…

I’m 5 years old. and I live in NYC. I love Imaginext Batman, Power Rangers, Avengers, the Justice League and LEGO. I also love Comic Con, movies, sports, Build-a-Bear and trying new experiences. I have a good sense of humor too! I want to be a scientist when I grow up.

At age 4, I was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma.

As a Candlelighters NYC kid, my favorite experiences include visiting Barbara and going to their amazing parties. My parents say their favorite part is that Candlelighters NYC caters to the needs of both children and parents. Often, parents are neglected but Candlelighters NYC knows cancer affects the whole family and supports all of us!

Hi, I’m Israel…

I’m 10 years old and I live in Akron, Ohio. I like reading books, playing video games and riding my bike. I want to live in Florida when I grow up and I want to be a neuroblastoma doctor.

At age 5, I was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

As a Candlelighters NYC kid, my favorite experiences include playing with Barbara’s dog, Uno, and hanging out. My parents would say their favorite part spending time with the Candlelighters team/family. When they spend time with you, they let you vent and give you a shoulder to cry on when needed. The support is genuine.

Hi, I’m Morgan…

I’m 4 years old. I live in Port Washington, NY and I have a 7 year old brother, Nathaniel. When I grow up, I want to be a pony but my mom thinks I should be a doctor since I enjoy medical play a lot (and I’m not afraid of blood!). I like to buy toys, especially LOL balls, Shopkins and My Little Pony. I also like to paint, draw, sing and dance. One interesting fact about me is that I’ve been reciting the book “Inside a House That is Haunted” by memory since I was 3 years old.

At age 3, I was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL).

When I come into NYC, my favorite Candlelighters NYC experience is going to Miss Barbara’s house and opening a million Shopkins. My parents say their favorite part of Candlelighters NYC is getting to know the wonderful group of people who just want to enjoy and love kids – and it helps to know that we aren’t alone in the journey. Oh, and the parties are pretty great too!

…And my family uses these words to describe Candlelighters NYC:  Angels sent to uplift us

Hi, I’m Rhyan…

I’m 7 years old. I live in Columbia, Missouri and I have two siblings – Brady (age 9) and Charli (age 4). I like playing with my brother and sister and my friends. I love anything that involves clothes, make-up and fashion. When I grow up, I want to be a gymnastics teacher, a fashion designer or a make-up artist.

When I was 5 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. Through our family’s journey, we’ve been able to raise $400,000 for pediatric cancer research!

As a Candlelighters NYC kid, I have a lot of favorite experiences. One of them is seeing The Nutcracker and going backstage with Ashley – a volunteer who is also a dancer for the New York City Ballet! Other experiences include riding on the FDNY Marine 1 boat and going to fashion shows. My parents say the big outing activities are great but they love the impromptu, little get-togethers at Barbara’s since they bring a little piece of “normalcy” to our crazy lives. The feeling of such closeness (even though we are thousands of miles away from home) is something so special and genuine. And knowing that Barbara and all her volunteers are there for us literally at the drop of a hat is something that is so important in this journey.

…And my family uses these words to describe Candlelighters NYC:  Genuine, love, fun, special, family
